Be a part of actively acknowledging and remembering the 8 minutes and 46 seconds that George Floyd was forcibly kneed on by Minneapolis police.

Today we are announcing our Most Valuable Player…. Mike Cinamella. Mike joined the team right from the start. Mike’s dedication and work ethic shined right from the start. He was named team captain as a freshman and continues to be a leader on the team. Mikes’s quickness and passing has made him a dangerous scrumhalf. He has the vision to set his teammates up and to attack the defensive gaps. That lead Mike to lead the team in tries with 6 and second in point with 30. Mike also was second in assists. While Mikes offensive presence is always impressive his defense is what makes him great. Mike isn’t always biggest guy on the field but he never back down from bring down the biggest guys on the field.

Today we are announcing our Best Back Award,,, Mitch Romanowski. Mitch joined the team halfway through our 2018 Fall season. Mitch started out as a forward but his skills, knowledge of the game, and leadership advanced so rapidly it became clear he was better utilized elsewhere. Mitch worked very hard over the off season to improve his passing and kicking. His ability to accurately kick high and ten on kickoffs gave the Pacers a major advantage after scoring tries. Mitch led the team in assists this fall and in conversion kicks. We look forward to seeing what skill he adds to his game for next year.

Today we are announcing our Best Forward Award…. This year we had two men that stuck out this year as our best forwards. Each stuck out in a different ways but both are deserve the recognition. This year’s Co Best Forward Awards goes to Erik Rinkunas and James Nehlig.

Erik joined us this past fall after transferring from Ithaca College where he played for two years. Erik scored his first career try in his first Marywood match and never looked back. Erik was tied with most tries scored in the season and second most in points. Erik was a versatile players playing three different positions over the season. We could always count on him getting the offense moving forward. We are looking forward to see if he can top his 6 try season.

James joined us last spring where he made an immediate impact on the team. James started out as a center but it became clear that his mentality and toughness was best suited in the forwards. Like Erik, James played multiple positions during the season. His offensive offloads and rucking matched with his tackling skills proved to be a game changer for the Pacers. We are excited to see him back on the pitch for us this Fall.

Today we are announcing our Break out Player of the Year. Our Break out Player of the Year is… Colin Meissler. Colin came to us from Roman Catholic High School where he was the starting Flyhalf his senior year. Colin played center for us most of the season but did step in to play fly a few times. Colin Physical downhill running was the driving force of our back line. Colin lead the team in point with 35 and he was third in tries scored (5). We are excited to see what he can do this fall for us. We are sure he will come out strong again.

This week we are going to celebrate our 2019-2020 season with announcing our Team Awards. Our Men had a fantastic Fall season going 5-2 for our first winning season, unfortunately our spring 7s season got cut short. All of our players worked very hard this year and we look forward to getting back on the pitch.

We are starting our team awards with our Most Improved Player...... Gage Fetsko. Gage started playing this past fall, he was new to the sport but with his soccer background and natural tackling ability made him an outstanding Fullback. Gage quickly became an offensive threat every time a team kicked against us. We look forward to seeing him back in action this fall.
