From CFIT to the field.

Some started their journey through CFIT together. Others came through different cohorts and met along the way. Now, they’re crossing paths in the cardiac device industry.

It’s exciting to see CFIT graduates building careers, serving patients, and becoming part of a growing network of professionals across the industry.

Whether they shared a classroom or met for the first time on the job, there’s something special about seeing the CFIT community show up in the field.

Learning From Leaders

During CFIT Pre-session, our students had the opportunity to hear from three Harding University leaders who brought different perspectives, experiences, and encouragement to the beginning of their CFIT journey.

Dr. Marty Spears, University Provost; Dr. Mike McGalliard, Dean of the College of Allied Health and Associate Provost of Health Sciences; and Robyn Maynard, J.D., Chief Legal and Compliance Officer, each took time to connect with our students and share their insight.

These conversations gave students an opportunity to learn beyond the classroom and hear from leaders who understand the importance of preparation, purpose, leadership, and serving others through their work.

We’re grateful to them for investing their time in our students and helping set the tone for their CFIT experience.

Learning from leaders. Growing with purpose. Preparing to make an impact.

CFIT students were introduced to Interprofessional Education (IPE) at Harding, learning about the importance of collaboration across healthcare disciplines.

This introduction gave students an opportunity to begin thinking beyond their individual areas of expertise and recognize how communication, collaboration, and different perspectives can contribute to better patient care.

A strong healthcare team starts with learning how to work together.

CFIT students recently worked in groups to explore the external features of CIED programmers and then presented their findings to their classmates.

What made this exercise especially valuable was the opportunity to learn not only from the technology, but also from one another. Working as a team, students had the chance to explore, communicate, problem-solve, and reflect on how they approached the task together.

These collaborative experiences are an important part of preparing CFIT students for the teamwork and communication they will encounter in the cardiac device industry.

Sometimes the best learning happens when you step back, look at the details, and learn from the people beside you.

Cardiac devices are remarkable tools—but understanding the heart is where it all begins.

At CFIT, students learn to connect physiology, anatomy, technology, and clinical decision-making to better understand the patients behind the devices.

Because innovation matters. But knowing why it matters makes all the difference.

Last Friday, our CFIT students had the opportunity to introduce themselves to their new classmates through individual presentations.

Each student shared a little about their background, experiences, and what brought them to CFIT. It was a great way to begin getting to know one another and building the community that will carry them through their time here.

We’re looking forward to all that this group will learn from one another along the way.

One of the most valuable parts of CFIT is learning from those who have been in your shoes.

Today, we welcomed a CFIT alumnus back to campus to share his initial experiences working in the cardiac device industry. From transitioning from the classroom to the workplace to learning what it takes to succeed in the field, his perspective gave our students a firsthand look at what comes next.

We’re grateful for alumni who continue to invest in the next generation of CFIT students and remind us that the journey doesn’t end at graduation—it’s just the beginning.

CFIT reaches far beyond our own backyard.

Our newest cohort comes from a wide range of places, bringing different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives to the CFIT community. Though they may come from different parts of the world, they are united by a shared purpose and a passion for the cardiac device industry.

Every pin on the map represents a student, a story, and a new connection.

We’re grateful for the places that brought them here—and excited for where their CFIT journey will take them.
