2026 Inspire Lectureship Track Highlight: Harding School of Theology: Scholarship for the Church

Harding School of Theology continues its mission of providing scholarship for the church by bringing faculty insights directly to this year's lectureship. This track offers a rigorous yet accessible look at biblical studies and spiritual formation, featuring sessions on the intertextual echoes of Isaiah in the Lord’s Prayer and the evolving intersection of artificial intelligence and the church. We are honored to feature Dr. Keith Stanglin, Executive Director of the Center for Christian Studies and Professor of Historical Theology, alongside Dr. Jeff Peterson, a Professor of New Testament with a Ph.D. from Yale University. Participants will also benefit from the administrative and missional expertise of Dr. Evertt Huffard as he revisits the essentials of spiritual leadership for the modern era.

The College of Bible and Ministry is pleased to announce that Dr. Jordan House will join the Bible Faculty full-time this August. As an assistant professor, Dr. House will focus on the spiritual formation and daily lives of our undergraduate students. In the 2025–2026 academic year, Dr. House taught two freshman classes while balancing responsibilities in Admissions recruiting.

Dr. House brings a rich background in education and ministry. His experience includes teaching at GACS in Atlanta, serving in full-time youth and worship ministry, and leading worship in diverse church settings for more than 25 years. Additionally, he spent several years traveling as the lead tenor for the singing group Acappella from 2005 to 2008.

Outside of his academic and ministry work, Dr. House is dedicated to his family of six. He and his wife, Audrey, reside in Searcy with their four children: Haven, August, Bodie, and Vale.

Please join us in welcoming Dr. House to the College of Bible and Ministry!

A message from Dr. Monte Cox, Dean of the College of Bible and Ministry.

I am pleased to announce that Dr. Kevin Burr has accepted the position of Assistant Dean in the College of Bible and Ministry. Kevin was hired as a Bible faculty member in the Fall of 2024. In two short years, Kevin has proven that he is an excellent teacher, a mentor to students, a dedicated scholar, a trusted colleague, and a team player. He has demonstrated the kinds of administrative gifts that give me confidence that he will excel in this new role.

As we welcome Kevin to this role, we also owe a great debt of gratitude to Dr. Jesse Robertson for serving first as Assistant Dean and then as Associate Dean from 2021-2026. He first took the reconfigured position previously held by Dr. Dan Williams, VP for Church Relations. In that capacity he directed the annual Lectureship and managed other Church Connections duties. He was promoted to serve as Associate Dean when Dr. Daniel Stockstill retired in 2022. In 2025-2026 he also became the Director of the Equip program, a role he will retain. In this capacity Jesse has served us very well. Jesse's first love is teaching, so it was Jesse's decision to step out of the dean's office (except for Equip) and return to the classroom full-time.

Please join me in welcoming Kevin to this new role and in thanking Jesse for his service to COBAM.
