This summer AVELA hosted 13 engineering interns through Seattle’s 2026 Youth Employment Program, placing students in UW CSE research, ISCRM biomedical research, and community STEM outreach.

Each intern completed 100-150 hours of work; AVELA received the Outstanding Site honor, and four interns earned awards across Engagement, Advocacy, and Creativity. We are proud of our students and grateful to the City of Seattle for investing in paid, career-connected opportunities for the communities we serve. 🙌🏼🙌🏽🙌🏿

Application are OPEN for SYEPS 2026-2027 Learn and Grow Program!

SYEP is providing students with job readiness and career training to support students entering the workforce.

This is a great program if you’re looking to increase your soft skills, have a competitive application and learn from industry professionals!

Learn and Grow will take place from October 2026 to March 2027. Ages 16-24 are encouraged to apply and stipends are provided.

The ACCE Scholarship recognizes students who use their skills, leadership, and passion to create meaningful change in their communities. More than a scholarship, it represents a commitment to community empowerment, service, and using education as a tool to uplift others.
