MR. GREEK 2021🚀
The time has come! It’s time to band together with friends, family, and alumni to help the Alpha Gamma Delta Iota chapter fundraise to support our mission of fighting hunger. With the circumstances of 2020 and beyond, we are unable to put on our signature annual philanthropy event, Mr. Greek, but that doesn’t mean that food insecurity has simply gone away. Due to the pandemic, food insecurity rates have skyrocketed from their already high levels, so if you find yourself in a position to give, it is more important now than ever. The entire month of February, the Iota chapter is hosting fundraisers to support this important mission.
There are two main organizations we are putting all our effort towards fundraising for. The first is the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation. The AGD Foundation helps to support both outside organizations that are dedicated to fighting hunger such as Meals on Wheels and Feeding America, as well as providing grants to chapter members who are going through financial emergencies or need scholarships. The efforts they make support those who don’t know where their next meal will come from as well as our sisters who are in extreme financial need.
The other organization who we support, Treehouse for Kids, is near and dear to our hearts, especially at Iota. They are an organization that works to give foster kids in King County the support that they lack, in order to help them on the path to graduate high school. The organization gives them food, clothes, school supplies, help getting a driver’s license, financial assistance, and the support that they are missing from the lack of a stable home life. The graduation rate of youth in foster care is currently less than 50% and Treehouse for Kids is working to change that. If you’re in the Seattle area and want to make a direct impact on our community, they are an organization which deserves your support.
Both of these philanthropic organizations are in dire need of support this year, as less people are able to give and more people need assistance. Beyond this , donations to both of these organizations are tax deductible, so if you are able to, now is the perfect time to lend your financial support. The Iota chapter and both of these organizations thank you in advance for your support.

For the month of February, our chapter will be focused on philanthropy by supporting these organizations, showcasing the acts of service our members perform in our communities, and reminiscing on past years’ Mr. Greek events.
