Raising artists, citizens and innovators for 100+ years, Cornish fosters a fresh and modern educational setting with an academic edge. What started as a one room school house has produced such icons as Mary Lambert, Merce Cunningham, Brendan Fraser, and many more. We offer Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in Art, Dance, Design, Performance Production and Theater, a Bachelor of Music degree and an Artist Diploma in Early Music. The College is accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges, and the National Association of Schools of Art and Design.

Over the weekend, fourth-year art student Perla Hernandez exhibited work at the Artists of Color Expo and Symposium (ACES).

ACES is a free, three-day celebration of BIPOC artists, creativity, and community. Perla's work is pictured below. She participated in Round 1, 2D art, as part of The Cypher: a live art-making experience where artists respond to a shared prompt (across multiple rounds), creating a cross-media dialogue in real time.

Premiering for the first time in Washington at Tasveer Film Festival, Breaking the Code traces one father's journey from Indian immigrant to Silicon Valley tech pioneer through the eyes of his son.

The documentary follows the life of Kanwal Rekhi and his experiences with migration, sacrifice and love that transcended borders and broke the glass ceiling of Indians in America. Co-directed by Ben Rekhi and Swetlana.

We are excited to be an official event sponsor and partner for the 21st Tasveer Film Festival & Market (TFFM 2026) in Seattle this October 13-18.

Hello, Goodbye, Hello brings together work by 10 recent graduates from Cornish’s Art BFA Class of 2026 in the Cornish Alumni Gallery.

Spanning painting, photography, sculpture, printmaking and installation, the exhibition reflects the distinct creative voices and material approaches of each artist. Together, the works explore questions of identity, sensuality, surveillance, racism and environmental sustainability.

These artists have been part of our community as students and scholars. Now, as they begin their careers beyond their alma mater, Hello, Goodbye, Hello offers an opportunity to encounter them again through the artists they have become.

Tacoma-born artist and 2017 Neddy Artist Awards recipient, Christopher Paul Jordan, opens his solo exhibition at The Behnke Family Gallery this Friday: underhand, overhand, backstops, treetops, zaps.

Christopher's paintings and public artworks explore the afterlife of memory, using salvaged materials and traces of removal to create new histories. His interdisciplinary practice spans painting, performance, installation and sculpture, often situated in public space.

Opening reception 4:30-7pm. More details below!

Marissa Rae Niederhauser, Dance '02, brings 42 years of dance practice and more than two decades of body-based work across film, performance art, photography, noise and installation to the Cornish Arts Incubator.

Niederhauser has presented live work and films internationally, exploring the body as a site for movement, experimentation and expression. During her residency, she’ll share this expansive practice through performances that invite you to experience movement in unexpected ways.
