UW Housing & Food Services HFS provides safe, convenient and affordable housing to nearly 10,000 students and professional staff.

HFS plays an integral role in supporting the UW’s mission by providing safe, convenient and affordable housing as well as programs promoting personal development and learning. Students find a ‘home away from home’ in our residence halls and our single student and family housing apartment communities. We also operate restaurants, espresso bars and markets throughout campus.

It's 3 weeks till Move-in, and here's a helpful packing tip: you'll probably use way less than you think! 👀

Ease into your new space, then fill in the gaps once you know what you actually need. Pack with reusable bags/suitcases instead of cardboard, and check out UW Surplus for the rest 💜💛

The HUB has been a gathering place for Huskies since it opened its doors in 1949. Over the years, it's been many things: a hotspot for student activism, a performance space, a bowling alley, and more. But one thing that's stayed the same is that it is a beloved campus dining destination.

Coordinate larger items with your roommates before Move-in so you don’t end up with duplicates. Need a MicroFridge? Consider renting one from us instead of bringing your own. It combines a refrigerator, freezer and microwave and is delivered directly to your room before Move-in.

Volunteer requirements:
💛 Commit to three 3.5-hour shifts from Sept. 22–25
💛 On-campus resident for Autumn 2026

What you’ll get in return:
