Established in 1970, North Seattle College provides learning opportunities for a diverse group of over 14,000 students each year. North is the starting point for many students who transfer to top universities across the country. Strong academic preparation and advising services, small classes, an innovative integrated studies program, broad e-learning options and a variety of partnerships with 4-y

ear schools contribute to student success. The College also offers a new Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Accounting with International Accounting and all-in-the-evening Associate of Arts and Associate in Business degree programs. North also provides outstanding career training in over 40 certificate programs including those in emerging fields such as sustainable and conventional energy and control technology, and green real estate. In addition, North helps people earn their GEDs, learn English, enhance their basic skills and/or pursue a new skill or personal interest. Concerts, plays, fitness programs, an award-winning literary magazine and diverse student population that includes over 600 international students from over 35 countries add depth to students’ experiences. North is located in the Northgate area of Seattle and is conveniently located near the new Northgate Link Light Rail station, the two major north-south highways, Interstate 5 and Highway 99, and is just a short drive to downtown and the University of Washington. Largely residential, the campus neighborhood is near a large shopping district and the city’s popular Greenlake Park. The campus includes environmentally sensitive wetlands which have inspired a college-wide commitment to sustainability. For this , we recognize Diana Ramirez, educator at El Centro de la Raza Child Development Center, who earned her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from NSC on June 18, 2026.

To celebrate this incredible achievement, 26 children from the Cedar Crossing program, accompanied by 10 parent chaperones, took their very first field trip—traveling together by Link light rail to cheer on their teacher at graduation. It was a powerful reminder that when children see their educators achieve their dreams, they begin to believe in their own.

Congratulations, Diana! Your dedication, perseverance, and leadership will continue to inspire children, families, and future educators for years to come.

Spotted. Jimothy the racoon showed up a bit overwhelmed by all the attention. While seeking refuge at North, he has been seen chasing squirrels, checking out the frogs, and attempting to sneak in to the Grove for snacks. If you see him around, please keep in mind that he just needs some respite from his newfound stardom.
