This past Friday, First Nations hosted our second annual powwow feed, an event started last year under then-powwow chair Tena Faith Bear Don't Walk (Apsáalooke), as a way to return the favor of powwow and honor those who make it all possible.

Our powwow feed means offering care, gratitude, and nourishment to those who lift us up, just as they do every year in helping bring our student-run powwow to life!

We’re honored for the opportunity to give back to the advisors, faculty, community members, volunteers, and FN officers who pour their love and energy into this celebration.

It was beautiful to share a meal with everyone, our hands go up to you all and we hope to see you at next year’s event!

Today, on May 5th, we wear red for all of our missing and murdered Indigenous relatives.

We remember their names, their lives and the love they carry. We protect, we act and we demand justice, because our people deserve to come home.

Today we encourage our Indigenous relatives to care for themselves and their communities in whatever ways speak to their spirits.
