Now that the 2017-2018 school year has come to an end, UPPOW wanted to recognize these four students for their contribution not only to UPPOW but to the UWSOP and beyond!

November 2017 - Ananya Murali
Ananya sat on the Regional Nominating Committee and represented the goals and interests of the organization exceptionally well at the APhA Midyear Regional Meeting. She helped to create a succinct and informative summary of the agenda topics that were presented for chapter members at the meeting. We are fortunate that Ananya not only stepped up to this challenge, but went above and beyond in her participation.

January 2018 - Cindy Kang
Cindy did a great job helping UPPOW launch their the ASHP Mock Residency Interviews by helping with set-up for the event, directing students to their scheduled interviews, and answering any questions the pharmacists and students had. Her warm personality helped make everyone feel welcome and contributed to the success of the ASHP Mock Residency Interview event this year.

February 2018 - Maurice Tran
Maurice helped plan and execute WSPA’s Annual Legislative Day at the state Capitol. His contributions secured over $1000 in funding for transportation and food from Bartell Drugs and QFC. In order to help best prepare student participants that day, he headed to Olympia one day prior than the rest of students and faculty to meet individually with a lawmaker and assist with scheduling. His dedication to the success of the UWSOP legislative day this year was unparalleled and deserves recognition as such.

March 2018 - Tyrone Zhang
Not only did Tyrone compete and place in the top 10 for the local patient counseling competition on campus, he further served as our student representative for the University of Washington to participate in the national patient counseling competition held in Nashville, Tennessee for the APhA Annual Meeting. Our chapter could not be more proud of him. Tyrone embodies the spirit of competition and was excited to test his skills on the national level.

We are proud to announce the annual UPPOW INTERPROFESSIONAL Health Fair COMING SOON to Red Square!

When: Tuesday May 22nd, 11am-3pm
Where: Red Square

Over 40 organizations are signed up this year to provide screening and education to students and the public, all while rocking out to some music spun by a local DJ. Be on the lookout for first come, first serve volunteer opportunity sign-ups posted in early May. For questions and/or further details reach out to Sean Linn, Hanna Kleiboeker, or Andrew Craciun. Wanting to liven up your early Spring Quarter? Do you enjoy fine dining, wine, and great energy packaged together in a luxurious venue? UPPOW is excited to invite you to join us in our Annual Auction this upcoming Friday April 6. Tickets cost $50 for students and Pharmacists so if you don't want to come alone bring along your fun group of friends or even your pharmacists to come along with you for a fantastic and fun-filled night of excellent dining, great views, and exhilarating generosity in support of UW School of Pharmacy Students. The venue and dining is hosted by Palisade Restaurant and will be running from 7-10pm on April 6. You can purchase tickets at www.uppow.org/auction. The theme is a Masquerade so we encourage guests bring masks to add to the fun theme we've catered to this year. All guests 21+ are welcome and we will be serving alcoholic beverages ALL INCLUDED in your ticket price. So come out and join UPPOW and the greater WA-state pharmily in this exceptional event!
