"The pieces were wonderfully cast, showcasing the dancers’ shared base techniques of dance training, allowing them to dance in the choreographing stylings of each piece, whether lyrical, theatrical or hard-hitting. It is exciting to see so many dancers and choreographers at this point in their careers, cultivating and discovering their aesthetics, movement styles and choreographic voice. As they continue to find the meaning in their movement and the potential of what their movement can say, we look forward to having them join the broader Seattle dance scene."

Congratulations to UW Department of Dance Music Director and Part-Time Lecturer Paul Matthew Moore, who wrote all original music for You Can’t Win, a true-crime movie based on the best-selling 1926 autobiography of Jack Black. This feature film, now streaming on Amazon Prime and Fandango, stars notable actors Michael Pitt, Will Patton, Julia Garner, and Jeremy Allen White.

Also featuring an original score by Moore is the documentary Suburban Fury, that played at the Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF)February 27th- March 5th. This film follows the story of Sara Jane Moore, “the FBI informant and single mother who tried to assassinate President Gerald Ford in 1975, as told in her own words.” Suburban Fury won the Grand Jury Prize for Best Documentary at the SIFF in May 2025.
