This year's UW Majors Concert featured student choreography discovering the different ways dance can tell a story, evoke a feeling, showcase techniques, or play with form.

Congratulations to UW Department of Dance Music Director and Part-Time Lecturer Paul Matthew Moore, who wrote all original music for You Can’t Win, a true-crime movie based on the best-selling 1926 autobiography of Jack Black. This feature film, now streaming on Amazon Prime and Fandango, stars notable actors Michael Pitt, Will Patton, Julia Garner, and Jeremy Allen White.

Also featuring an original score by Moore is the documentary Suburban Fury, that played at the Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF)February 27th- March 5th. This film follows the story of Sara Jane Moore, “the FBI informant and single mother who tried to assassinate President Gerald Ford in 1975, as told in her own words.” Suburban Fury won the Grand Jury Prize for Best Documentary at the SIFF in May 2025.

As part of the Carnival celebrations in Lima, Peru, UW Department of Dance faculty member Dr. Rojas-Stewart gave a keynote lecture presentation on the “Origin and History of the Son de los Diablos (devils) Dance in Peru.” Congratulations Professor Rojas-Stewart!
