As the summer winds down, I want to wish an incredible school year to all of the amazing students, dedicated teachers, and hardworking staff heading back to the classroom! 📣 Want to join the Roadrunner Spirit Squad?

Tryouts are Saturday, Sept. 19, from 1-3 p.m. in the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center!

Students interested in trying out must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours and have previous cheer experience. Come dressed in shorts, a T-shirt, cheer shoes and socks.

The Missouri Community College Association President’s and Chancellor’s group met at SFCC-Sedalia today. MCCA is comprised of Missouri’s 12 public community colleges and we unite to represent and strengthen our colleges. Of course, at State Fair Community College for lunch we served corn dogs, funnel cakes, lemonade and other State Fair standards, all prepared by our Great Western Food Service Chef Tamara Raines. We had a great fair-food fueled meeting!

We are a family at SFCC. The Roadrunner Marathon. But for me and my wife, Kay, it is even more personal. Three students I welcomed to class this week were from our family. Our son, Jackson, is graduating in December with a welding degree. Our granddaughter, Morgan, is a LPN and will graduate in May as a RN. And our grandson, Carter, just started in the HVAC program and already is working in the industry. Roadrunner Family. Our family!
