Attention high school musicians! It's that time of year again! It's time to register for Susquehanna University’s High School Wind Ensemble Institute, happening this June 22 - 28! Information on how to register can be found at our website, with more information on the camp, how to apply for scholarships and financial aid, and how to audition for the wind and brass solo competition! Open to rising 9th-12th graders and incoming SU first year students, the SU High School Wind Ensemble Institute offers student musicians the opportunity to make wonderful music in a variety of instrumental ensembles, working with SU's high-quality faculty, current and past SU students, and other talented high school musicians. Admittance is competitive and based on instrumentation needs for the Wind Ensemble and various chamber groups available to students, so get your registration in before June 10th! During our intensive, week-long program, students have the opportunity to polish their technique in private lessons with our expert faculty, improve their musicianship playing in chamber ensembles such as woodwind quintet or brass quintet, expand their musical knowledge in masterclasses and seminars, prepare for All-State auditions, solo festivals, or college auditions, and perform exciting and challenging works for the wind band. This is also a great opportunity to come stay on our beautiful campus with current SU students and gain the experience of being a college student for the week! Scholarships and financial aid are available based on talent and need. Any questions can be directed to Dr. Eric L. Hinton, director of bands and Department of Music Chair at Susquehanna University, at [email protected] or 570-372-4296. Come spend a week studying and playing music with us!
