After leading Susquehanna’s athletics program for 16 years, Director of Athletics, Pam Samuelson will be leaving the University at the end of June to accept an offer to become Commissioner of the NCAA’s Little East Conference in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. The Little East is New England's athletic conference for public institutions in NCAA Division III.
Pam has been a highly effective leader during her tenure at Susquehanna, responsible for all aspects of our NCAA Division III program of 23 varsity sports, as well as club sports, intramurals, and recreation programs. She has elevated Susquehanna athletics while ably navigating through periods of change. She helped to develop the newly created Landmark Conference, and she guided our football program into the Centennial Conference. She also played an integral role in the process of determining a new mascot and developing its incumbent identity.
Additionally, Pam created the SU Intern program and helped to increase roster sizes of existing teams, resulting in a 28% increase in the number of student-athletes, including a 5% increase in student-athletes of color. She also added staff diversity in athletics and created SU FACT (Female Athlete Connection Team) to engage female athletic alumnae and connect them with current student-athletes.
