“Working in the theatre department has taught me the importance of time management and supporting those around me. Everyone has great ideas and strong passions, and my job helps bring those ideas to life. Seeing how we all grow in our passions together has been incredibly rewarding, and the professional communication and organizational skills I've built here will follow me directly into production management after graduation.”

Susquehanna University theatre alumna Amanda Jill Robinson ’12 is currently making her Broadway debut in the Tony Award–winning musical Operation Mincemeat.

Robinson plays Johnny Bevan and, like her castmates, also portrays other roles in the five-person production.

Operation Mincemeat tells the wildly improbable and hilarious true story of the covert operation that helped turn the tide of World War II. The production moved from the New Diorama Theatre to London’s West End before opening on Broadway in 2025, where its original 16-week run has been extended eight times, now through January 2027.

The show has received rave reviews from The New York Times Magazine, Entertainment Weekly, Variety and more. Since opening at the New Diorama Theatre in London in 2019, Operation Mincemeat has been nominated for 64 awards and has won 13, including an Olivier Award for Best Musical and a Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for Jak Malone’s portrayal of Hester Leggatt.

Prior to Operation Mincemeat, Robinson performed in Blithe Spirit, Cinderella and A Child’s Christmas in Wales at the Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia; Peter and the Starcatcher and Henry V at the Theater at Monmouth in Maine; and Man of La Mancha at Act II Playhouse in Ambler, Pennsylvania, for which she was nominated for a Barrymore Award.
