The Micah Scholars community spent yesterday welcoming our new 1st Year Scholars to campus at Concordia University, Nebraska!

Our 1st Year Scholars started their day with a meet and greet and opening devotional with Professor Rathke at breakfast. They, then, had an all-access tour led by Dr.
John Jurchen of our phenomenal science facilities. This was followed by a presentation on "How to Be A Successful Pre-Health Student" led by Dr. Skelton, along with a Q&A panel from other wonderful science faculty. We ended the evening with fun and fellowship, having a wonderful open house and dinner alongside the Uzziah and Paul Scholars.

Nature can surprise you. This little guy hitched a ride into our animal lab after Professor Brandt brought in some new logs for our organism enclosures. While only a temporary visitor, our organismal students seized the moment to hold this slithery friend!
