On Thursday, April 16, a trio of our stellar Business Studies Division students were recognized as members of the Lita Marcelo Abele Institute for Business Studies at the Rowan College of South Jersey Foundation Gala. Through the generosity of Board Member Lita Abele and her Institute, the students were provided leadership and networking training, free tickets to the Gala, and gift cards to pay for their Gala looks! Pictured below are the students with Lita (picture 1) and with our Business Studies leadership (Dean Dominic Puggi and Assistant Dean Jim Celia) as well as our supporting faculty member for the Institute initiative, Danielle Morganti (picture 2).

Hello everyone! Our Gloucester Business Studies advisor, Alejandra Valencia, is in our office at the Rastelli Business and Corporate Center from now until noon to help with Business Studies specific advisement questions for the Summer and Fall 2026 semesters.

On Friday, February 13, our Assistant Dean, Jim Celia, paid a visit to his alma mater, The Ohio State University, to present a talk called "Accounting for Purpose" as part of the Master's of Accounting (MAcc) EY Speaker Series.

Jim shared his story of finding his career passion as he shifted from working as a young CPA at EY, LLP, to serving as a graduate researcher in Ohio State's PhD Accounting program, to leaving the PhD program early and returning home to work at Rowan College of South Jersey, where he has found steady ground and a place to develop.

As he recounted the various unique and valuable opportunities his position at RCSJ has afforded him, including presenting at ACBSP's Region 1 conference in New Hampshire, working with incarcerated students at FCI Fairton, and leading initiatives with community organizations like the Chambers of Commerce and Veterans Business Outreach Center, Jim implored the students to identify their passion and to leverage the skills found in their graduate studies in order to pursue it wholeheartedly.

Jim is back at RCSJ to continue chasing his twin passions: training and mentoring students, and serving the College and the broader community he calls home.

On November 20th, Rowan College celebrated the ribbon-cutting of the First Harvest Financial Innovation Lab at RCSJ, located within the Rastelli Business and Corporate Center on RCSJ’s Gloucester campus. The First Harvest Financial Innovation Lab will provide essential resources to enhance financial literacy and workforce development in a dedicated environment where classroom theory connects directly with real-world financial applications.
