One unknown Simon John wrote, “Electing Mr. Urey as president will be another big mistake in our long list of mistakes.” Sons and daughters of Liberia, Let us not give credence to people who have no positive vision for Liberia. Apparently, Mr. John is deaf, dumb and blind to plight of the ordinary Liberian people. Moreover, I believe his message is motivated by hate and malice against a man who vision is to promote good governance characterized with transparency and accountability. What is needed in Liberia is a president with concrete action about how to put an end to corruption and introduce participatory democracy. No doubt that Benoni Urey has the ability to make this happen in Liberia under his leadership. It is unfortunate that Brother Simon John has no clue of who Mr. Urey is and his many accomplishments in Liberia. Nevertheless, mentioning Charles Taylor, let me remind you that no one is glorifying what went wrong under his leadership but, it is no crime to work for your country in the interest of the people. In a postwar country, all the true sons and daughters must put aside all their fundamental political differences to rebuild the country and Mr. Urey will not be an exception in this case and therefore contributed in a meaningful way.
Mr. Simon John, if you have followed the Liberian civil war, you will know that our current president admitted financially supporting the war that brought death and destruction to our people and country. I understand you have deliberately ignored this factual information and will not want to discuss it because of your loyalty to the EJS government. A government that has disability in dealing with corruption.
The true sons and daughters of Liberia who are instrumental in organizing the Friends of Benoni Urey, FOBU are well seasoned in the Liberian politics and will not compromise with an individual over the interest of ordinary Liberians. Make no mistake about this, Urey has the vision to provide the leadership that is need to transform Liberia. Therefore, we will stand with him to ensure we win the 2017 election.
