We are incredibly proud to celebrate our upcoming Licensed Practical Nursing graduates as they prepare for one of the most meaningful milestones of their nursing journey —the Nursing Pinning Ceremony.

Unlike traditional graduation, a nursing pinning ceremony is a time-honored tradition reserved specifically for nurses. It symbolizes the transition from nursing student to nursing professional. The modern tradition dates back to the 1860s and the legacy of Florence Nightingale, with the first nursing pins presented to a graduating class in the United States at Bellevue Hospital in 1880.

Reaching this moment is no small accomplishment. Our Practical Nursing program consists of 1,232 clock hours, including 450 hours of hands-on clinical experience. Throughout their journey, these students have dedicated countless hours to developing the knowledge, skills, compassion, and professionalism needed to care for others.

The pin they receive represents so much more than the completion of a program. It represents the hard work, sacrifices, early mornings, long clinical days, challenges overcome, and unwavering commitment that brought each graduate to this moment.

Soon, these graduates will proudly take their place in a profession built upon compassion, service, integrity, and care for others. We could not be more proud of how far they have come.

🩺Congratulations to our 2026 Practical Nursing Class! We are honored to celebrate this special nursing tradition with you.

Our TCAT Nursing students recently collected and donated school supplies to an elementary school to help ensure all children have the supplies they need to start the school year ready to learn.

This service project was especially meaningful because the school nurse at the elementary school is a former TCAT Shelbyville student! It was a wonderful opportunity to give back to the community while making a connection with one of our own alumni.🩺📓

At TCAT Shelbyville our students are learning skilled trades while giving back to their community.

The Franklin County Campus Industrial maintenance students have been dedicating their time to volunteering at Habitat for Humanity house.

Hands on opportunities are what we at TCAT Shelbyville are all about. Learning while performing their skilled trade allows the students to be better prepared for life after graduation and immediate job placement.

Happy National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day! Our Franklin County campus students and instructors celebrated the day with a delicious chocolate chip cookie. Yummy!!!

Our TCAT Shelbyville CAD students recently were able to modify a modular, low-speed, in-draft wind tunnel provided to us by a business partner.

Designed to allow for the study of air currents and aerodynamics around a scaled test article using steam and a laser line generator, the students helped run the printers and provide models for hardware pieces that were not in the original design. This process allowed the students a chance to learn more about additive manufacturing, design for additive manufacturing, and working with airtight designs and parts.

Now students can use this to test ideas within many fields where aerodynamics is greatly considered from cars to rockets!
