🔧 Congratulations to Tayden Hicks of Marcus, winner of NCC’s first Snap-on Toolbox Raffle! Tayden, who is currently an NCC student, took home a toolbox filled with Snap-on tools valued at $3,500.

Thanks to Snap-on’s generous donation, all raffle proceeds will establish a new scholarship for students enrolled in programs where Snap-on tools may be used, including NCC’s Career and Technical Education programs.

Thank you to everyone who purchased a ticket and helped turn this exciting raffle into a new opportunity for NCC students. We hope to make it an annual event! ❤️⚡

Big ideas. Tight timelines. Real-world experience. 💡

NCC welcomed 98 high school students from nine high schools across Northwest Iowa to campus Tuesday morning as part of the Center for Advanced Professional Studies (CAPS) program.

During their Design Sprint pitches, students presented concepts for redesigned Siouxland or War Eagle Conference logos to a panel of 10 business and marketing professionals. The challenge gave students hands-on experience in creative problem-solving, collaboration, professional presentations and receiving constructive feedback.

It was exciting to see these students step outside their comfort zones, take action and bridge the gap between the classroom and the professional world!

Go Team Thunder and Coach Kirlin!!

Northwest Iowa Community College volleyball is taking the court for its inaugural season, with coach Mark Kirlin building the program from scratch in just seven months. The Thunder’s first roster features nine players, many from northwest Iowa, as NCC begins competition in the ICCAC.

⚡ THUNDER ATHLETICS RECAP | AUGUST 25–30 ⚡

Another week of Thunder Athletics is in the books!

⚽ MEN’S SOCCER improved to 2–1 with a 2–0 win over Anoka-Ramsey! Cian Wright and Leslie Musaka found the net as the Thunder recorded their second consecutive shutout.

⛳ MEN’S GOLF made NCC history at The War at the Moor! The Thunder competed for the first time in program history, with Carson Arens and Karson Hoogendorn each shooting an 80 to set the early NCC individual scoring mark. Daxton Myler had the honor of hitting the first competitive shot in NCC men’s golf history!

🏐 VOLLEYBALL continued to show progress against Northwestern College JV and Kirkwood Community College, with improvements in serve receive, defense and serving as the Thunder continue to build in their first season.

🎯 And SPORTS SHOOTING joins the action this week!
