These students represented the Posey Leadership Institute at the Greater Dallas Business Ethics Award Luncheon with Keynote Speaker Tom Leppert, who is former CEO and Mayor of Dallas! The GDBEA student evaluation team visits each nominee company for in-person, onsite interview and assessment. The team's reports help guide the judges' assessment of each nominees with real life feedback. The following students are a part of this year's student evaluator panel (from left to right):

Check out one of our Sally Posey Fellows discussing his summer internship plans!

"This summer, I will be working with the Texas Sports Hall of Fame in Waco, Texas as a summer intern. I will be gaining valuable experience in event planning, marketing, and operations as I pursue a career in sports management. My involvement with the Posey Leadership Institute has increased my leadership and communication skills, while also bolstering my resume and interviewing skills. I believe that this involvement has helped me obtain this internship, and has also prepared me for the new experiences that I will encounter in the future. I am extremely thankful for the PLI for helping me as I pursue this career, and I'm very excited for this opportunity with the Texas Sports Hall of Fame. Go Roos!" -Shane Brooks '18

Thanks to Jesuit College Prep Dallas for letting their 9th grade boys spend the day at Austin College. They expanded their leadership knowledge, enjoyed a campus tour, and had lunch with alums. We hope to see them as kangaroos in a few years!

The Posey Leadership Institute, in collaboration with the Johnson Center, hosted Thom Chesney, PhD for a Presidential Panel. Dr. Chesney, President of Brookhaven Community College, and President Marjorie Hass led a panel discussion on opportunities for transfer students at Austin College. Posey Fellow Madi McVay led Dr. Chesney on a lively tour of campus. Dr. Chesney looks forward to further collaborations with Austin College in the future!

"I will be working with Goldman Sachs for ten weeks this summer as an Operations Intern. After receiving division-specific training, I will learn critical business skills while gaining hands on experience in a team environment. Having leadership as a minor as well as being a Sally Posey Fellow has helped me secure this opportunity by helping me build my resume and prepare for the interviews. The leadership coursework I have taken has also increased my interpersonal communication skills. After receiving the internship offer, I was able to network with an Austin College alumnus who was involved with the leadership institute. I am looking forward to my internship this summer, and I am very thankful for the Posey Leadership Institute for helping me chase after my dreams. Go Roos!" - Madi McVay '18

This past Wednesday, a group of Austin College students had the opportunity to spend their day at UT Southwestern Medical Center with the 2017 Posey Leadership Award Recipient, Dr. Vikram Patel. They were able to learn about his innovative research through his "Grand Rounds" lecture, as well as partake in other engaging activities throughout the day. Thank you UTSW for hosting us!
