Who is ready to meet another ECEPDO@PASSHE team member?

🍎🍎🍎

Meet Rueben Ransom!

Rueben has been a PD coordinator for the ECEPDO@PASSHE for 5 years! He is essential to keeping our Central Region team running. Rueben has a friendly spirit and makes great connections with our students and their programs.

“My favorite part of this position is always connecting with students. I love assisting them throughout their educational journey and watching their professional growth. I also, love seeing them get to the finish line, where the student ultimately reaches their goal that they have been striving for. It is a rewarding feeling that will never get old.”

Want to know something fun about Rueben? He loves all things Social Studies. History, Psychology, you name it.

“I loved history because it amazed me how different time periods had different social norms. Something that may seem bizarre today, was normal yesterday. I sometimes picture myself in certain time periods and try to imagine living under those circumstances. Also, I love to see how much civilization has grown and makes me think about what it will look like beyond my years of being on this planet. I loved psychology because I was always curious of how and why people are how they are. I loved learning the theories and the reason behind why humans do what they do. The thought process of it all always intrigued me.”

If you are an Early Childhood Educator and want to take that next step in your education, apply today! You will be paired with a PD Coordinator like Rueben.

Education transforms how we educate
🍎🍎🍎

Meet Colleen, a 45 year old ECEPDO@PASSHE CDA student attending WCCC. She believed this exact sentiment when she started her CDA classes.

“After learning more about it (the CDA), I realized it was something I wanted to pursue—not only for myself, but for the toddlers I was teaching. I wanted to provide them with the best care and education possible while also growing professionally.”

Colleen believes that obtaining her CDA will help her feel more confident in her role as a lead teacher and support her in continuing to provide high-quality care. It also opens the door for future opportunities and continued growth.

“The ECEPDO@PASSHE has been very supportive by guiding me through the CDA process and providing helpful resources along the way. Their encouragement and clear direction have made the experience feel manageable and have helped me stay motivated to reach my goals.”

✨✨✨Meet Allison Moon!✨✨✨

Allison is our Professional Development Coordinator for both the Central (ELRC 7, 8, and Perry and Cumberland County) and Southwest (Cambria, Blair, and Huntingdon County) Region. Allison has been with the since 2024!

“My favorite part of my position is breaking down barriers for PDO students. I know that by finding solutions for our students, we help them do better in their schooling. And better education for teachers means better education/ care for the children they serve!”

Allison has learned a lot from the field of education (she has worked with young children, elementary, high school, and adult learners). The biggest piece of advice that sticks with her is this:

“There are multiple ways to build a block tower. When we learn to listen to others and work together, we build the tower faster, stronger, and taller than any way we could build it on our own.”

If you want to become a PDO student, apply today!
