Level Lodge is proud to congratulate Brother Henrique Lima on receiving the prestigious Robert Johnston Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to Masonry and his quiet support of the community.

Brother Lima has consistently demonstrated the quiet strength, humility, and selfless service that define the very best of our Craft. Whether supporting the Lodge, assisting Brethren, or helping others without seeking recognition, his actions speak volumes.

This distinguished recognition was presented during a special gathering at the American Antiquarian Society, where it was a privilege to celebrate alongside Brethren from the 23rd Masonic District.

Please join us in congratulating Brother Lima on this well deserved and meaningful honour.

An unforgettable evening celebrating Stephen Cohn as he received the Masonic Veteran’s Medal in recognition of 50 years in the Craft.

Surrounded by family, friends, and Brethren from across the country, we reflected on a lifetime of dedication, mentorship, and service to Masonry. We were especially proud to celebrate one of our own, as Level Lodge had the honor of serving as Steve’s Mother Lodge. It was also wonderful to welcome visiting Brethren from Level Lodge in Connecticut, alongside representatives from Grand Lodge and Garden City Lodge, to name just a few.

From serving on the Grand Lodge Bylaws and Charters Committee, to training generations of Secretaries and District Deputy Grand Secretaries, Steve’s impact on the Craft has been truly remarkable. He was also one of the Brethren instrumental in ensuring a Torah from Poland was safely secured within the Overlook Chapel, and is one of the few holders of the prestigious Henry Price Medal.

We were further honored by the presence of Rt Wor. Jeffry T Ross, Rt. Wor. Adam Mitchell, Deputy Grand Master, and Rt. Wor. Paul Gaudet Jr., Junior Grand Warden, who travelled personally to congratulate him on this well deserved recognition.

Please join us in congratulating Rt. Wor. Stephen Cohn on this extraordinary milestone and thanking him for 50 years of faithful service to the Craft.

Level Lodge is incredibly proud to announce that Wor. Tom DeFeudis has been awarded the Distinguished Service Medal (Joseph Warren Medal), one of the highest recognitions that may be conferred by the Grand Master upon a Brother who has rendered distinguished service to his Lodge and to Freemasonry.

This honour reflects Wor. Tom DeFeudis’ unwavering dedication, leadership, and countless contributions to Level Lodge and the wider Masonic community. His commitment to our Craft, our values, and our Brotherhood has left a lasting impact on so many.

We are equally proud to share that his wife, Mrs. Eva DeFeudis, was presented with the Grand Ladies Award in recognition of her continued support, kindness, and service alongside the Lodge.

The DeFeudis family has given so much to both our Lodge and our community over the years, and we are deeply grateful for all that they do. Their example of service, generosity, and devotion embodies the very best of what Freemasonry and family support can achieve together.

Please join us in congratulating Wor. Tom DeFeudis and Eva on these well deserved honours.

“The roll of the workmen has been called”
In Loving Memory of Brother Norman “Nookie” Goldman
🕯️ 1936 – January 22, 2026 🕯️

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Brother Norman “Nookie” Goldman, who was called from labor on January 22, 2026, at the age of 89.

Brother Goldman was a devoted Mason for fifty-nine years, exemplifying a lifetime of commitment to the principles of our Fraternity. He was a proud United States Army veteran and a loving husband to his childhood sweetheart, Glory, with whom he shared sixty-nine years of marriage.

Norman was deeply devoted to his family and was known for his warmth, intellect, and generosity of spirit. His character, service, and quiet strength left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A Funeral Service honoring Brother Goldman’s life will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at 11:30 AM. A Zoom link for remote attendance is included in the obituary.

May his memory be a blessing.

🎩 23rd District Potluck Dinner

Despite the inclement weather, the 23rd District came together for an evening defined by fellowship, families, laughter, and genuine togetherness. The weather outside did little to slow the spirit inside, as Brethren gathered to share an impressive spread of food, enjoy good company, and strengthen the bonds that unite us.

Midway through the evening, it was clear that the tone and success of the gathering reflected strong leadership. Thank you to RW Ross for hosting the potluck dinner and for providing the guidance and hospitality that continue to keep the 23rd District connected. Your efforts ensure that opportunities for fellowship remain strong, even when conditions are less than ideal.

Like a well-laid foundation weathering the elements, the night showed how unity, shared labor, and mutual respect reinforce the structure we are building together. When each Brother brings what he can to the table, differences are leveled, actions are squared by kindness, and the cement of brotherly love continues to bind the 23rd District firmly together.

🎳 Brotherhood Bowling Night – December 17

On December 17, the Brethren gathered for a lively Brotherhood Bowling Night at Bowlero in Shrewsbury, and the evening delivered exactly what it promised—fellowship, laughter, and good-natured competition.

Frames were rolled, strikes were celebrated, spares were debated, and plenty of camaraderie filled the lanes. Nights like this remind us that Freemasonry is not confined to the lodge room alone—it lives wherever Brothers come together in harmony, shared purpose, and enjoyment of one another’s company.

In a lighthearted Masonic sense, bowling offers its own allegory: each Brother steps to the line on his own approach, yet the game is richer when played together. We aim carefully, adjust after each frame, and learn that even a missed pin is not failure—only instruction for the next roll. Progress is measured not by perfection, but by perseverance, balance, and good spirits along the way.

Masonry should be meaningful—but it should also be fun. Brotherhood grows strongest when labor is tempered with laughter and fellowship. Well done to all who joined, and here’s to many more frames rolled together, on the level.
