Update from our Rising Star Interns!

Kaitlynn: This week I spent time connecting with local daycares and planning curriculum for this summer's educational programs. We have officially begun booking programs with several daycares and Hope Haven, and I'm excited to get out into the community and start sharing these learning experiences next week!

I also began researching a potential new station for the Mobile Ag Learning Lab. I'm looking forward to diving into the creation process and can't wait to share more about this project with you all in the future!

Claire: This week, I spent all of my time at the Osceola County Office! I started by drawing out a bunch of layout ideas for the new office, and now I am in the process of making them all digital. This will allow me to create 3D models and get some visuals!

Megan: This week in my internship, I finalized my survey and created a QR code flyer for the digital version. I also had the Rotary Club in Osceola county participate, which gave me great early feedback! To get ready for the next steps, I set up an Excel spreadsheet to start organizing and analyzing responses. Excited to keep building community awareness of ISU Extension and Outreach programs!

Iowa Beef Center at Iowa State University and South Dakota State University Beef Extension have partnered to showcase, demonstrate, and discuss a wide variety of new tools and techniques in beef production. Join us for the Northwest Iowa Precision Beef Technology Field Day on Thursday June 25 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Getting Farms, 2859 Pierce Avenue, Sanborn IA.

Our young gardeners got their hands dirty and their creativity blooming at Green Thumbs, Dirty Fingers Camp! 🌱🎨

Campers learned how to plant seeds, painted their own pots, and explored the outdoors on a nature scavenger hunt. From digging in the soil to discovering the wonders of nature, it was a morning full of learning, creativity, and fun!

We can't wait to see what grows from the seeds they planted; both in their pots and in their love for nature. 🌼💚

Please join us in welcoming our new County Youth Coordinator Morgan Keene!

Morgan brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role, with over 10 years of experience working with middle and high school students as an educator, coach, and school administrator. She graduated from LaGrange College with a Bachelor of Arts in English and earned her Master of Arts in Education from the University of Phoenix. Most recently, she worked in education roles in Northwest Iowa and was an Equestrian Coordinator for a large summer camp in Georgia.
