Stan Eitreim ’67 passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. Lovingly known as Augustana’s “everything man,” Stan was a true Viking legend for the then Augustana Department of Music. A tuba player, miracle worker, and a technical professional, he shared his talents and generosity throughout our campus and the Sioux Falls arts community from 1975 to 2010.

Augustana recognized his outstanding service with the Augie Pride Award in 2002 and the Performing and Visual Arts Award in 2016. His contributions to our University and School of Music leave a lasting legacy in the lives of those who knew and worked with him.

Join us this afternoon for a recital featuring renowned countertenor Daniel Moody and Dr. David Chin of the Augustana University School of Music at the piano.

Spanning more than three centuries of music, the recital explores the many faces of desire, from the sensuality and passion of the Baroque to the tenderness, heartbreak, and solitude of the Romantic era. Featuring music by Dowland, Purcell, Scarlatti, Duparc, Hahn, Mozart, Brahms, and Mahler, the program traces a deeply human journey through love, longing, and farewell.
