I am thrilled to share some fantastic news! This morning, the Commission on Collegiate Interpreter Education (CCIE) has officially approved our program for a 10-year reaccreditation!

This outstanding milestone reflects the incredible dedication, hard work, and day-to-day excellence of our entire faculty and staff. If you took the time to participate in the site visit meetings with the CCIE team, please accept my sincere thanks for your support.

I truly believe that it takes a village to make these opportunities possible, and your ongoing collaboration is at the heart of everything we achieve. Here’s to celebrating this milestone together and continuing to build strong partnerships and new opportunities ahead!

We were thrilled and honored to host the Commission on Collegiate
​Interpreter Education’s Site Visit Team. This is the final step of the reaccreditation process for the interpreting program! Thank you Dr. Carolyn Ball, Daniel Maffia, and Dr. Laura Hill for all the work you’ve done in review of the program and the insight you’ve provided! Additionally we want to thank everyone (students, alumni, stake holders, mentors, advisory committee, members of the Deaf community, and Augie administrators) who took time over the past couple days to meet with them.

SLIN students and faculty were privileged to celebrate Mount Rushmore Chapter’s 50th anniversary! Congrats!!

🎉 Celebrating 50 years of connection, community, and Bison pride!

On September 19, 2026, 35 alumni and community members gathered in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to celebrate the Mount Rushmore Chapter’s 50th anniversary. The celebration featured special guest speaker President Roberta Cordano and honored the chapter with a Certificate of Chapter Resolution
recognizing this remarkable milestone.

Congratulations to the Mount Rushmore Chapter on five decades of bringing alumni together and strengthening the Gallaudet community! 💙🦬
