SENIOR SPOTLIGHT💋 - Paula Rodríguez-Alvarez

MAJOR: BFA in Dance w/ a Concentration in Performance and Choreography w/ Minor in Psychology

POST-GRAD PLANS: I will be attending the CounterTechnique Intensive in NYC and later staffing an international summer camp in Columbus, OH, through CISV! After that, I will be returning home to Costa Rica and working freelance with different dance studios and companies in the area!

FAV MEMORY: A big one for me is definitely getting by big, Maddie, and my littles, Kayla and Kaylee! Getting to build such a close bond with my family and the support they give me is something I will forever cherish! An unexpected one for me, though, is getting the opportunity to choreograph and participate in Greek Sing! I had a blast both years being paired up with Pi Kappa Phi and Theta Xi, and getting to use my skill sets that I’ve developed over the last 5 years as a dance major in Greek Life is something that I would’ve never imagined!

ALPHA TAU IMPACT: I had the opportunity to serve as Director of Visual Identity for the past year, which has allowed me to continue growing and evolving in my marketing skills and give back to this chapter that has given so much to me!

ADVICE FOR YOUNGER SISTERS: Allow this chapter to push you out of your comfort zone and become a place of growth! Although it’s hard to believe, I am usually a shier person at first (obviously, I become obnoxiously loud and crazy once you get to know me), but AST has given me a safe space and platform to lead and step out of my comfort zone!
