Slippery Rock University communication students are .

Last night, 39 seniors presented their digital portfolios to a panel of industry professionals as part of the department's long-standing senior portfolio presentation tradition. This milestone showcases our students' talent and growth as they prepare to enter the workforce. They continue to reflect the best of the Haverlack College of Business.

We are so proud of what our students have accomplished, and they're just getting started.

Thank you to our judges, many of them SRU alumni, for coming back to campus and investing in the next generation of communication professionals. You make a difference!

Here’s a Rock Solid welcome by KDKA-TV | CBS Pittsburgh, opening their show Pittsburgh Today Live with students from SRU’s Live Broadcast Production course, accompanied by associate professor Brittany Fleming. The students toured the KDKA studios and were part of PTL’s live audience –– and they were surprised by being featured on the show with video clips of their work.

SRU alumnus Brian Grystar, ’00, KDKA’s video photographer, editor and media manager, helped make the connection.

Internship Spotlight⭐️

This past summer, Josie Hart was the Marketing and Graphic Communications Intern at The Macoskey Center, where she focused primarily on managing and growing the center's social media presence.

Throughout the summer, she managed Instagram and Facebook accounts, created short-form video content and tracked social media analytics. The most exciting project she worked on was launching The Macoskey Center's TikTok account, including developing a full strategy proposal. She also assisted with newsletters, signage, photography, and content creation during summer camps.

This internship allowed her to directly apply concepts from her communications coursework while developing adaptability, collaboration, and leadership skills in a fast-paced, real-world environment. Being able to combine creativity, strategic communication, and outdoor sustainability work made this experience incredibly rewarding and impactful for her professional growth.
