🚑 A New Chapter for EMS Training in Johnston County! 🚑

Today marked an exciting milestone as Johnston County Emergency Services held its first class in the newly renovated EMS classroom at the Britt Building at Johnston Community College! What was once the former welding bay has undergone an extensive transformation into a dedicated classroom designed to support the education, training, and continued professional development of our local EMS professionals.

We are incredibly grateful for the support, funding, and collaboration that made this renovation possible. This project represents an investment not only in education, but also in the first responders who serve our community every day.

We are especially thankful for our continued partnership with Johnston County Emergency Services and proud to provide a permanent training facility where their personnel can learn, practice, and grow.

We look forward to seeing this space filled with many more classes, skills sessions, and training opportunities for years to come!

🚑 Ready to take the next step in your EMS career?

Johnston Community College is excited to offer our Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) – Hybrid Program beginning January 2027!

The AEMT level is the perfect next step for EMTs looking to expand their knowledge, strengthen their clinical skills, and prepare for greater opportunities in EMS. Students will build advanced skills in airway management, IV therapy, medication administration, patient assessment, and emergency care while gaining valuable hands-on clinical and field experience.

💻 Hybrid Format
Classes run January 25 – June 27, 2027, with online coursework and in-person meetings every third weekend from 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.

Saturdays are for the… TOXICOLOGIC EMERGENCIES??? You heard that right! Our paramedic students spent this Saturday learning about different toxidromes, poisonings, specific antidotes and prehospital treatments. The students applied their new knowledge with simulations and practice TSOPS!

🚑 Become a Mental Health Resilience Officer (MHRO)! 🧠💙

Mental health is just as important as physical health—especially for those who serve on the front lines. Join Johnston Community College for the NAEMT Mental Health Resilience Officer (MHRO) course and gain the knowledge and skills to support the mental wellness of your fellow responders.

✔ Previous experience with Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD) recommended
