'In 1863, in the midst of the Civil War, a small business school opened in Providence with a decidedly practical mission: teach Rhode Islanders and returning veterans how to make a living.'

President Ross Gittell was recently interviewed from Providence Business News featuring Rhode Island’s oldest companies as the nation celebrates the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

"I think really, at a time of rapid change in the economy, and in the application of technology across all areas of business, that Bryant will continue to lead in business education and student success,” President Gittell stated to PBN.

Move-in day for Bryant’s Class of 2030 was filled with a little sweat, a few bittersweet tears — and a whole lot of excitement and smiles.

On a sunny and slightly humid late August morning, activity began buzzing early as first-year students and their families arrived to move everything from boxes of clothing and TVs to golf clubs and guitars into dorm rooms and suites.

Sharing the burden of lugging and towing student belongings from parking lot to stairwell to suites was an enthusiastic squad of Bryant volunteers — some sophomores who made an identical move just a year ago, and other students who will serve as resident assistants for the new arrivals.

This evening, members from the Class of 2030 had the pleasure of having dinner with President Gittell as they concluded their Welcome Weekend and prepare for the first of classes tomorrow.

Traditions like this one are important to the Bulldog community. We cannot wait to see the full circle moment when they return to Callahan House for their Senior Toast in four years.

Meet Adrian Nunez ’27: Health Sciences major, campus leader, and this year’s Lead Peer Counselor for 4MILE.

Through 4MILE (Multicultural and International Leadership Experience), new first-year students spend a week building connections, exploring new perspectives, developing leadership skills and learning how to make Bryant feel like home.

“Programs like 4MILE create space for students to build community, share experiences, and begin their Bryant journey with a strong sense of belonging,” Adrian says.

4MILE is just one of the ways he’s making an impact on campus. As a Master Peer Tutor with Bryant’s Academic Center for Excellence and The Writing Center, he’s helping students excel to their full potential.

Summer in Rhode Island wouldn’t be the same without Del’s Lemonade, and for Sydney Amaral ’26 it has been a season for squeezing the most out of a marketing internship at one of the Ocean State’s most iconic brands.

"It was a good way to get hands-on experience and see how much strategy goes into growing and maintaining a well-known Rhode Island brand,” explains the East Providence, Rhode Island native. “As a kid, I would always see the Del’s truck at the beach. I felt that this was something I'd be interested in, because not only will it help me in the future but it's something that reminds me of my childhood.”
