Ever been interested in seeing what we do down on the coast? 🌊🐠🪼We'd love for you to join our team! We're excited to announce that we are hiring a digital communications and web support intern. This position will work closely with our outreach coordinator on designing social media campaigns, creating marketing & outreach materials, maintaining the FSUCML website, and assisting with basic IT support at the marine lab. 💻

The Experimental Biology (BSC 3402L) students have been hard at work this summer! They've spent long, hot days learning experimental design techniques, practicing research skills in the field, and analyzing samples in the lab. Currently, they're all working on independent research projects, using the knowledge and skills they've gained through the course.

One week from today, students will be sharing their final research projects with CML faculty and staff at a poster session. Stay tuned for photos & more information about their findings! 🌊🐠

This past Saturday, we had an incredibly successful Evening at the Edge of the Sea to kick off our summer series! 🌊🐚🐠 Despite the exceedingly windy conditions, we managed to identify over 20 coastal species and practice our cast-net throwing skills! We had so much fun and hope all of our participants did too!

The correct answer is... B. 332 meters (1,090 ft)! This record was set in September of 2014 by an Egyptian diver, Ahmed Gabr, in the Red Sea. While his descent only took around 15 minutes, his ascent lasted over 13 hours due to all the decompression stops he had to make on his way to the surface. He prepared and trained for this dive for four years, and a team of 30 other divers supported him.
