Our senior nursing students had an exciting opportunity to spend two days at the University of Notre Dame helping with their annual Flu Vaccine Blitz!
This community-based clinical experience gave our students the opportunity to strengthen their communication skills while interacting with both adults and children and to gain valuable hands-on experience administering IM injections across the lifespan.
In addition to practicing important nursing skills, students were able to see firsthand what goes into planning and implementing a large, well-organized community vaccination event. It was a wonderful example of population health nursing in action!
Everyone had a great time learning, building confidence, and most importantly, giving back to the community. We are grateful to Notre Dame for providing our students with such a meaningful learning opportunity!
