We are so proud of our students who were nurse externs this summer at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center! ✨

Saint Joseph Health System Nursing was proud to host 12 summer nurse externs this year. These nursing students, who are entering their final year of school, spent eight weeks gaining hands on experience across two different units. It was wonderful to watch them grow, expand their clinical knowledge, and develop their skills throughout the program. Thank you for joining us this summer and for your dedication to providing exceptional patient care. We wish you continued success as you complete your nursing education.

IU South Bend Nursing and Palliative Care programs were proud to host our inaugural Palliative and End-of-Life Care Workshop. This event brought together nursing professionals from our community for a day of learning focused on compassionate, evidence-based care for patients and families facing serious illness and the end of life. Faculty members Dr. Barb White, Dr. Bunmi Okanlami, and Professor Abbie Muhlstadt helped lead the workshop, along with Palliative Care Nurse Practitioners Michael Poulsen (Paradigm Health) and Phil Dibert (Elkhart General) sharing their expertise for the APRN content. We are grateful to everyone who contributed their knowledge and experience to this important day of professional learning and collaboration!
