We are so proud of all that our student Diana Zebroski has accomplished during her time at IU South Bend and look forward to seeing where else her path leads during her final semester and post-graduation!

Diana Zebroski has blazed her own unique trail to success at IU South Bend.

“I wanted to save the world in the first place, but I’ve learned through my studies that that’s obviously not possible,” she says. “What we can do is to make an impact in our own communities, so here I am."

After moving to the U.S. from the Netherlands as a teenager, Zebroski took an unconventional path to higher education, starting at IU South Bend at age 34. This December, she'll graduate with double majors in Sustainability Studies and Spanish while gaining hands-on experience with local environmental organizations as a McKinney Climate Fellow.

Indiana University South Bend honors student and computer science/actuarial science major, Duwayne Gray, attended this year's Purdue Data Mine Symposium in Lafayette as the Lead TA for the USDA Forestry project, developing an internal dashboard for monitoring the mortality of different tree species across the United States. His team also created a working machine learning application to help researchers run analyses based on specific areas of interest, such as biomass. We are thrilled to see our students actively leading and inspiring others on campuses beyond our own! (See post comments for photos of Duwayne's team's presentation at the Purdue Data Mine Symposium.)

Hello everyone! We just wrapped up MEHA day 2! 👀

IUSB has had the honor to host the Mid East Honors Association Conference! We couldn't have done this conference without our generous sponsor Visit South Bend, Mishawaka!

We had the privilege and honor of inviting over 20 colleges to IUSB to share different projects and make connections. We had just wrapped up day 2 with our panel and scholars presentations AND a service project making literacy kits for La Casa de Amistad!

As a fun incentive we also had the privilege of letting students travel to the Potawatomi Zoo!

We are so thankful for all of those who came helped with the service project and helping a wonderful cause. As we head into tomorrow we will dive into poster sessions!

Stay tuned for more pictures to come!
