UW-Parkside's Institute of Professional Educator Development (IPED) encompasses both Teacher Education and Professional Development. Our assistance begins when you decide "I want to be an educator" and continues through the lifespan of your career. The Teacher Education program is focused on creating a regional 21st century learning community in southeastern Wisconsin for students who have the dis

position and desire to teach in PK-12 classrooms. We are committed to providing "high quality academic programs rooted in the tradition of a liberal education in the arts, sciences and professions, responsive to the occupational, civic and cultural needs of the region, and actively seek the continued input of all stakeholders" (UW-Parkside Mission, 2010). Through Advanced Professional Development, we draw on current research and collaborative partnerships to support the personal and professional growth of current PK-12 educators to promote effective teaching and learning.

It's time for our annual Teacher Appreciation Promotion! Here's how it works:
✏️Educators in Kenosha and surrounding communities create a registry on the BHB website filled with books and supplies for their classroom!
✏️Anyone can shop from the registry and donate items to the teacher.
✏️10% of sales from the registry get donated to the educator on a BHB gift certificate that they can use for themself, because they deserve it!

Right now, educators can sign up to participate, and we will let the rest of our community know when they can shop for our local teachers!

EDUCATORS: sign up here to participate: https://forms.gle/y8Z6KHyQUbot4GtaA
**The deadline to participate and earn a free gift certificate is April 19th!**

NOTE: we consider an "educator" to be anyone who directly works with children and can use help stocking their space with books for the kids, school supplies, or training resources for themselves and their coworkers. This includes daycare teachers, school counselors, librarians, and other support staff that would benefit from providing books to kids.
