It’s getting to be the time in the spring semester when you may be thinking about your plans for next year’s housing. For those who want to experience off-campus living, see the resources below to find the best and safest options.
• We recommend that you limit your search for off-campus housing to the area surrounding our campus that is within our Safe Ride zone (http://media.shu.edu/offCampusLiving/module04/story_content/external_files/saferide.pdf). If you choose to live within this zone, you will have access to our night-time ride service. If you decide to live beyond the zone, you should make arrangements for your own transportation and be aware of your personal safety while making plans for your living arrangements.
• Before you shop around for an apartment or house rental, we ask that you look at our online resource (“Beyond Our Gates: Your Guide to Off-Campus Living” that can be found at http://www.shu.edu/offices/student-life/off-campus-living.cfm) and take our online tutorial to assist you with your housing search.
We want all of our students to be safe and happy in their housing next year. Please let us know if you have questions about your housing plans, transportation needs, and safety as you prepare for the upcoming academic year.
