Megan's Law is a NJ law created that requires convicted s*x offenders to register with the county prosecutor's office where they live and every time they move.
This law was created after a s*x offender living across the street from a little girl lured her, did unimaginable things to a child and eventually killed her. It is believed if such a registry existed at the time Megan could have been found sooner and her life saved.
It is estimated that at least 1 s*x offender is living within 1 mile of your home.
