❄️ Freezing temperatures, below-zero wind chills, and another storm are on the horizon.
We are here to serve our community, especially those who are vulnerable and in need of shelter, food, warmth, or simply a safe place to get out of the cold.

We maintain a zero tolerance for drugs and alcohol, but we will always do our best to help in any way we can. This work is only possible because of the prayers and support of our community, and we give God all the glory.

No one cares how much you know until they know how much you care.

And here’s the truth: it’s time to move beyond just talking about the problem.
Social media posts don’t keep people warm, action does. If you see a need and feel burdened, we invite you to walk it out with us, not just talk about it.

If you’d like to volunteer, support, or get involved, please call 828-395-2000.
Those seeking services from Rutherford or Polk County may call for a phone assessment.

If you want to help **break the chains of addiction and homelessness, one person at a time.

**we’d be glad to work together and make a real difference.

UPDATE: Don’t wait for the power to go out before you go to a shelter. That should be at the very top. You don’t have to wait for the power to go out if you don’t have an alternative heating source. We welcome anyone that needs to come.

Do you have questions about whether to go to a shelter? Use this chart to help make some decisions. Both shelters will open at noon on Saturday. Remember Rutherfordton Presbyterian is for medically fragile and Forest City Dunbar Elementary School is for the general public. Stay safe this weekend.
