Dr. David Faintein, a school psychologist and researcher in the ROAR (Rapid Online Assessment of Reading) Lab at Stanford’s School of Education, delivered a lecture to our school psychology program’s research team, the Systems, Equity, and Emotions in Schools (SEES) Lab. He shared research on identifying multifactorial phenotypes of dyslexia, with a particular focus on decoding and visual processing subtypes. Students listened, engaged in discussion, and asked questions about how this work applies to their efforts in local Spokane-area schools.

Thank you, Dr. Faintein, for your generosity in sharing your knowledge and inspiring thoughtful conversations among our students!

For Anthony Verducci '16, finding a sense of belonging at Gonzaga became the starting point for a lifelong commitment to helping others find their way, too.

His experience with Gonzaga University Specialized Recreation (GUSR) opened his eyes to the challenges people with disabilities face beyond the campus community. That passion eventually led him to found Wayfinder, a platform connecting people with disabilities to the services they need.

Today, Wayfinder supports more than 40,000 Colorado residents with disabilities and has helped reduce the average time to connect someone with services from 63 days to 23.
