Gonzaga University's Master of Sport and Athletic Administration (MASAA) Program gives you the edge of adding a Top-10 NCAA athletic brand to your education. The curriculum is interdisciplinary, grounded in the liberal arts, and draws on studies in educational and organizational theory. The program prepares students to be leaders in sport, athletic and health professions. The emphasis is on training candidates to administer programs in accordance with best professional practices.

In late July, Dr. Ryan Turcott represented MASAA as a panelist at Greater Spokane Inc.'s Economic Development Committee meeting, contributing to the ongoing refresh of Spokane County's Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS).

A key focus of Dr. Turcott's remarks was strengthening connections between visiting athletes, sport tourists, and the Spokane community (particularly international visitors) to create lasting economic, cultural, and community benefits through friendship, cross-cultural exchange, and sport diplomacy. This builds on previous Gonzaga MASAA initiatives, including hosting baseball leaders from Ecuador and Italy's Pistoia Basket during Spokane Hoopfest.

Thank you to Gonzaga MASAA alumnus and Spokane Sports CEO Ashley Blake for leading an engaging panel discussion and advancing the conversation on the future of sports tourism and regional economic development!

We're proud to share that Dr. Emma Ariyo presented her research poster, “The Sultans of the Net: News and Social Media Framing of the Turkey Women's National Volleyball Team,” at the IWG Global Summit on Women & Sport in Birmingham.

The Summit brought together leaders, researchers, practitioners, policymakers, educators, investors, and change makers from around the world to explore lasting progress for women and girls in sport. T

A highlight of the event was building new relationships and future collaborations with an inspiring group of African women in sport (pictured).

Next IWG summit will be in Rio, Brazil 2030! 🇧🇷
