The MATL program forms leaders equipped to serve in a variety of community and ecclesial positions. Whether students are already in a ministry or mission-oriented position, are interested in moving into this type of vocation, or just want to understand the spiritual dimensions of professional life in a theological way, the Master of Arts in Theology and Leadership brings theological reflection and

leadership formation together in a unique educational experience. Please take a moment to review our Gonzaga University Social Media User Expectations to learn about appropriate interaction on our Facebook and other social media pages.

"I felt like something was missing. I realized that while I had spent years investing in my professional growth, I hadn't invested nearly as intentionally in understanding my faith... Once I recognized that, it naturally led me to theology programs."

We had such a wonderful time welcoming our newest cohort to campus for their first immersion! What was your favorite part?

We are deeply grateful for the overwhelming generosity shown by our community in response to the recent wildfires. The donations received have provided meaningful support to those affected and reflect the compassion and care that define our region.

Due to limited storage capacity and the evolving needs of recovery efforts, August 6, 2026 was the final day we accepted in-kind donations. Beginning August 7, we will pause all donations of physical goods and cannot accept additional items.

For those who would still like to support wildfire relief efforts, we encourage you to connect directly with organizations serving the community. The City of Spokane - Municipal Government has a list of area charities involved in wildfire donations: https://bit.ly/4bBWx5v

Individuals wishing to support members of the Gonzaga community affected by the fires may also contribute to the President's Discretionary Fund, which will continue to provide flexible assistance where needs arise. Consider donating here: https://bit.ly/4q0fh4D

Thank you for your generosity, partnership and support during this challenging time.

We are so excited to officially welcome our newest cohort to campus this week!

While we are thrilled to kick off the year together, we also want to acknowledge the serious situation unfolding just north of us with the ongoing Spokane wildfires.

Please know that our campus remains safe, though we understand that smoke and air quality are valid concerns right now.

If you are coming to campus, you have been receiving communication from Dr. Kevin Brown about what to expect, but we want to highlight a couple details:
- To help keep everyone comfortable and protected, the MATL program is providing masks for each student at the immersion but there are also masks available at the welcome desk in Hemmingson.
- All activities are taking place indoors.

Please keep checking your email for communication and you can additionally find up-to-date campus and local wildfire resources here: https://bit.ly/4wy2WHf
