⚡ Teamwork + Communication + Hands-On Training! 🔌

Students in MTI’s Electrician Program at our Springfield, MO campus recently put their communication skills to the test with a hands-on team-building exercise! 👏

Working in groups of three, each student took on a different role:

💙 The Planner – Developed the plan for completing the circuit
💙 The Eyes/Communicator – Communicated the instructions to the team
💙 The Hands – Followed the directions to physically build the circuit

The goal? Work together and communicate effectively to build a circuit consisting of a switched receptacle! ⚡🔧

Exercises like this give students the opportunity to practice technical skills while strengthening the teamwork and communication skills they can carry with them into the trades.

🔥 The demand for skilled welders is growing, and the need is real.

MTI in Springfield, MO, recently spoke with KY3 about the growing need for skilled trades professionals and what the future could look like for the welding industry.

According to the American Welding Society, the U.S. could face a shortage of more than 300,000 welding professionals by 2029 as experienced workers retire and the demand for skilled workers continues.

MTI Welding Program Director Dustin Franklin and MTI Owner & CEO Brian Huff shared their perspectives on the need for the next generation of skilled trades professionals, the opportunities available in the industry, and why more young people are beginning to consider careers in the trades. 👨‍🏭🔥

Our Phlebotomy students at Midwest Technical Institute in Springfield, MO, put their skills into practice during their monthly Pokes for Pizza event!

Students from around campus had the chance to stop by, roll up a sleeve, and help our Phlebotomy students gain valuable hands-on experience practicing their sticks, with a hot slice of pizza waiting for them afterward! 🍕👏

It’s a fun way for our students to build confidence in their skills while bringing the MTI campus community together. 💙
