Join the St. Bonaventure community in Buffalo for a special celebration of our Franciscan heritage.

On Sunday, Oct. 11, the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra will perform Francis: A New Oratorio at Kleinhans Music Hall. Inspired by the life and enduring message of St. Francis of Assisi, the work features a libretto by Sr. Margaret Carney, O.S.F., S.T.D., ’86, president emerita of St. Bonaventure, with music by acclaimed composer Richard Danielpour.

Before the performance, join President Jeff Gingerich and fellow members of the St. Bonaventure community for a special luncheon with Sr. Margaret at Marcato by Oliver’s inside Kleinhans. Doors open at 1 p.m., and Sr. Margaret will share reflections on writing the libretto and helping bring this extraordinary new work to life.

Three friars with St. Bonaventure ties have taken an important step in their Franciscan journeys this past weekend.

Congratulations to Br. Brian Menezes, who spent his 2024-25 internship year at Bona’s; Br. Tyler Grudi, ’19; and Br. Kevin Hamzik, ’19, who completed his internship at Bona’s this past year and will continue his ministry here.

All three are among eight friars who will profess solemn vows this month, making a lifelong commitment to the Franciscan way of life.

Congratulations on this meaningful milestone and the next chapter of their Franciscan journeys!
