Student Veterans of St. Bonaventure University When coupled with the visible and invisible wounds of war, a college degree can be an elusive goal for men and women returning from military service.

Student Veterans of ST. Bonaventure makes that goal a reality.

On this Memorial Day, we remember those who gave everything in service to our nation.

In the spirit of St. Francis, may we honor their sacrifice with gratitude, humility, and a commitment to peace.

Congratulations to Jillian Diane and On The Side Sub Shop on this new chapter!

Jillian is an Army Veteran, a 2019 Bona grad, and was a huge part of our Student Veterans Club, including helping fundraise for our Veterans Pilgrimage.

Proud to see our Bona veterans continuing to lead, serve, and make a difference in our community.

Support local. Support veteran-owned.

Mental Health Awareness Month is upon us. For our Veterans and families, too many fight battles in silence long after coming home. Check on your people, have the hard conversations, and remind others that asking for help is a strength, not a weakness.

Proud to support the work being done by We Face The Fight in breaking the stigma and bringing real support to veterans and their families.

Veterans, Active Duty, Guard, and Reserve members, we could use your help.

We are working on a research project connected to the Veterans Music Coalition and how peer-to-peer programs can better reach and support veterans and military-connected individuals. This is part of real research and also part of a class project, because yes, Frank is still taking classes. Apparently, His military retirement was not enough. 😂

The survey looks at what makes veterans and service members interested in peer-to-peer programs, what barriers may keep people from participating, and what kind of messaging feels real, useful, and not forced.

Your honest feedback would help us better understand how programs like VMC can build connection, camaraderie, and community in a way that actually meets people where they are.

If you are a veteran, Active Duty, Guard, or Reserve, please consider taking a few minutes to complete the survey and help Frank out.

The Military Aligned Students Program continues to make a real difference on campus, and this year that impact was reflected through the recognition of several outstanding military-aligned students and supporters.

Army Retired SFC Luke Hitchcock was recognized with the Service Leadership Award/Veteran for exceptional performance while serving as a volunteer and student leader in the St. Bonaventure University Military Aligned Students Program. Luke’s leadership, service, and steady commitment to the military-aligned community continue to set the example for others.

Anji Pandey received the Service Leadership Award/Student for exceptional performance while serving as a volunteer and student leader in the St. Bonaventure University Military Aligned Students Program. Her dedication, support, and willingness to lead have made a meaningful impact on the program and the students connected to it.

Christy Rodriguez was honored with the Dennis R. DePerro Student Leader of the Year Award, which is presented to the top leader of a campus organization who has shown exemplary leadership abilities in guiding their organization to success. As president of LASO, Christy has demonstrated the kind of leadership that strengthens both her organization and the wider campus community.

Nicholas Prytko was recognized with the Integrity Award, presented in recognition of a student who accepts responsibility for their actions and whose relationships are based on respect for the dignity of others, honesty, and transparency. This award reflects the kind of character and personal accountability that help shape a stronger campus culture.

Kylee Leonard received an honorable mention for the EMPOWER Award, which is given to one or more students who demonstrate leadership and initiative in supporting the goals of EMPOWER, a student peer prevention educator group that works to educate the campus community on sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking. Her recognition highlights the importance of students stepping up to support others and lead through action.

Together, these recognitions show that military-aligned students are not just present on campus — they are leading, serving, supporting others, and helping make St. Bonaventure a better place.
