We’re proud to spotlight an LU alum making an impact in St. Louis’ biotech community, Therie Moore!

For the past year, he’s been working as a Research Associate at Plastomics, Inc., contributing to the development of a novel chloroplast genetic engineering platform designed to introduce beneficial traits into row crops like corn and soybean. His work has connected him with talented colleagues and biotech partners across the Midwest, strengthening industry collaboration and supporting innovations that help farmers build a better future.

Therie shared that his time at LU prepared him exceptionally well for this role. The biological sciences program gave him a strong foundation in molecular biology, plant physiology, and experimental design, along with hands‑on lab experience that built both confidence and skill.

We’re proud of the meaningful work he’s doing and the way he continues to represent LU with excellence.

Way to go, Therie!
