October 6th was the annual PA Day of Service. This year's theme was Access for All. Overall, together as a Saint Louis University PA Program Student Community, we:
-Packed 10,000+ Narcan kits/bags for Missouri prisons & Department of Corrections
-Provided access to clothing, shoes, and/or books for over 100 school children & their facilities in need
-Fed local community members experiencing housing and food insecurity
-Assisted 10 adults/children with varying IDDs with painting “spooky bird houses” to celebrate the upcoming fall/Halloween season
-Coached 20 adults with varying IDDs to a big basketball victory in a competitive basketball league!

🍎🥨 OT Snacks & Skills was a hit!

Yesterday, our Occupational Therapy students welcomed Jill Polovich, M.S., OTR/L from Wonder Works Pediatric Therapy to campus for an interactive session focused on pediatric occupational therapy. Students explored the impact of environmental adaptation, sensory processing, and reflex integration on pediatric practice while learning from real-world clinical experiences.

We love creating opportunities for students to connect with practicing clinicians and see how concepts learned in the classroom come to life in patient care. Thank you to Wonder Works for partnering with us and helping shape the future of occupational therapy!

October 15 is World Anatomy Day! Established by the International Federation of Associations of Anatomists (IFAA), the day commemorates Andreas Vesalius, widely regarded as the founder of modern human anatomy, and celebrates anatomy’s continuing role in education and healthcare.

For students and professionals across the health sciences, anatomy connects classroom learning with real-world care. It helps us understand movement, locate structures in medical images, explore the foundations of speech and swallowing, and communicate clearly across healthcare teams.

Doisy College of Health Sciences celebrates our anatomy educators, our students, and the professionals who apply this knowledge every day. We also honor body donors and their families for their generous contributions to education and discovery.
