Good Evening ASL,

I hope the first week of the Fall 2 term is going well for everyone. I’m reaching out to the members of Alpha Sigma Lambda to inform you about the SPS Tele-Counselor Program. The admission counselors within the School of Professional Studies created this program with the goal to start contacting prospective students who have not yet applied to our programs and to encourage them to do so.

They would like for current SPS students to reach out to these prospects and share their educational, professional and personal experiences while being a student in SPS. They hope that by having the students of ASL reaching out to these prospects, they’re able to establish a personal connection that's deeply rooted in the Jesuit Mission and encourage new students to be apart of our school and community.

We’ve also been informed there might be some compensation (possibly a scholarship) involved as an incentive.

As we gear up for the start of a new academic year, I just wanted to welcome back all the members of Alpha Sigma Lambda honor society. Fall Term begins Monday, August 17 and we’ll have approximately 800 students taking courses with SPS. Your membership in the ASL chapter here at SLU acknowledges the success you’ve achieved while balancing family, work and other responsibilities. This among other characteristics sets you apart as leaders.

For the 2015-2016 I’m pleased to serve as the Staff Advisor, and am looking forward to working with the ASL leadership and all of you to have a great year. Please be looking to hear soon from Debra Cox (president), Claudell Parker (vice-president) and Carrie Derby (secretary) who are your officers. In that vein the position of Media Officer is vacant, so please reach out to Debra [email protected] if you have interest.

Again, I just wanted to welcome you back for the start of Fall Term I, ASL officers are working to plan events for the coming year and I hope that we all will commit to being engaged and supportive to one another. I look forward to seeing you soon.
