Wishing Dalia all the best as she begins her practicum experience! 🙌

Meet our new practicum student, Dalia Paris-Saper! 🥳

Dalia is pursing a Master of Social Work at the WashU Brown School and will be working with us through spring 2027. With a concentration in Social Impact Leadership, Dalia is passionate about the intersection of philanthropy and holistic youth wellbeing. Prior to graduate school, Dalia lived in Washington D.C. and worked as an Associate Director at Orr Group, a nonprofit consulting firm. She received her bachelor's in American Studies from Pitzer College in 2021. Outside of work, Dalia loves swimming, yoga, and finding the best gluten-free desserts.

Professor Kim Johnson has written an op-ed for STAT reflecting on how her aunt's passing from stage 4 breast cancer prompted her to examine cancer screening guidelines for residents in long-term care facilities.

After her aunt died, cancer epidemiologist Kim Johnson looked into screening guidelines for long-term care residents — and found almost nothing.

Jin Huang, the Irving Louis Horowitz Professor in Social Policy and co-director of the Center for Social Development at the Brown School, delivered a keynote address on financial social work at the “Financial Social Work and Grassroots Governance: The Mission of Financial Social Work in the Modernization of Governance Capacity” conference at Southwestern University of Finance and Economics in Chengdu, China.
