Jim Frydl currently serves as the Midway District Representative
and Chairman of the Greene County Board of Supervisors. He is the Regional Sales Manager of Mid-Atlantic Environmental Equipment, Inc. A family owned company which cleans up polluted ground water and restores nature’s bounty. On Tuesday, November 5th, Jim is asking you to re-elect him to represent you on the Board. Running on his record of accomplishments, his platform also includes continued expansion of the commercial tax base, school improvements, and protecting both property rights and rural beauty. Jim has served in Greene County government for the past six years. As a Planning Commissioner, he received formal training and gained valuable experience in land use planning, ordinances, and property rights. Elected to Planning Commission Chairman, he also served as the committee point person for the Comprehensive Plan revision. The state mandated Comprehensive Plan outlines the community priorities and how to achieve them. Elected to serve as the Ruckersville District Representative beginning in 2010, Jim’s district changed after the census dictated a new district. The Midway district was born out of the Ruckersville District in 2012 and Jim served as the first Midway District representative. Jim was elected Chairman of the Board by his peers in 2013. The son of an Air Force officer, he grew up steeped in military discipline and accountability at duty stations in Texas, California, Louisiana, Alabama, Germany, and North Carolina. Jim’s Fully Accredited Bachelors Degree in Business Administration was awarded by the well respected Walker School of Business at Appalachian State University. A resident of the Cross Creek neighborhood for twenty years, Jim has volunteered five years of coaching in the Greene County Parks and Recreation Department’s Youth Soccer program. He has been active in a number of civic and education organizations and is a long time member of The Greene Hills Club. Jim and his wife Jenni, an elementary school teacher, enjoy traveling and keeping up with their daughter, Jessica, who is a junior at William Monroe High School.
