Please help us welcome another incredible panelist for our upcoming Men’s Mental Health Awareness Panel, From Surviving to Thriving: The Mental Health Journey of Men. We are honored to introduce James, a veteran, entrepreneur, assistant pastor, and community advocate.

James is passionate about strengthening communities through mentorship, faith, leadership, and honest conversations surrounding mental health, healing, and purpose. Upsilon Pi Omega Chapter encourages mental health and Black men. 🩷💚

Too often, men, especially Black men, are expected to carry stress, pressure, trauma, and responsibility in silence. Strength has too often been defined as suffering quietly.

But the truth is this: checking in can save a life.

According to national mental health data:
• Men are significantly less likely to seek mental health treatment than women.
• Black adults are more likely to experience persistent symptoms of emotional distress, yet are less likely to receive mental health services.
• Su***de remains one of the leading causes of death among men in the United States.

Sometimes a simple conversation matters more than we realize.

Check on the fathers.
Check on the brothers.
Check on the husbands.
Check on the sons.
Check on the friends who always say they’re “good.”

Encouragement matters. Community matters. Presence matters.
