Service has been a busy part of our chapter’s semester, and two recent efforts stand out.

Our members spent an afternoon at Montgomery Gardens Assisted Living, sitting with residents and getting to know them. This past Saturday, the chapter joined Habitat for Humanity on site, helping frame a home and pitching in wherever else we were needed.

We’re grateful to both organizations for welcoming us, and to the brothers who showed up for each. Service remains a core commitment of our chapter, and we look forward to more of it this semester.

Meet Harrison Powell, our brother of the month.

Harrison is a sophomore majoring in Building Construction Science from Mandeville, Louisiana, and currently serves as our Brotherhood Chair. He’s maintained a 3.80 GPA while putting in significant time and effort into event setup across social events, philanthropy events, dinners, and rush events, as well as house improvements and coordinating brotherhood events for the chapter, including our upcoming Okatoma retreat.

Harrison also secured a Red Bull sponsorship for Mississippi Beta this past month — a partnership he pursued and one that will benefit our events and our chapter for a long time to come.

When asked what being a Phi Delt means to him, Harrison said, “To me, being a Phi Delt means being of service toward our chapter and the brotherhood that it fosters.”

Harrison goes above and beyond in everything he does. We at the Mississippi Beta Chapter are glad to call him our brother.
